The F Gas Regulations 2006 require systems with more than 3kg of refrigerant gas to be inspected and certified every 12 months, more frequently for larger systems. General planned maintenance servicing of systems, though recognised as best practice, is not a statutory requirement.

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 requires that all systems are maintained in a manner that will prevent danger. Periodic Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR), in line with IEE Regulations and BS7671: 17th Edition Amended 2011, is the best practice to test and document your properties fixed electrical wiring.
